:) I am really glad I found your blog. I got the invite from my friend Nawal who paints, she has some lovely wall plates, ostrich eggs, etc, besides water colours. There is so much talent in Kuwait. Do go if you can it promises to be good. I have come across Sangita at her place but we were not really introduced that day as the place was teeming with people.
Do you have pictures of your paintings on the blog or elsewhere? I like your pictures very much.

OMG! Its a small world indeed..I received that e-mail last night but I couldn't tell from the address who it was from. Of course I know Sangeeta - its the same lady I mention at the beginning of this article! She was the one who took me to Aladdin's House!

No I suppose that is a different group. It is amazing how many ladies' groups are there in Kuwait and there is always something happening.

For all lovers of art and refined taste, and in appreciation of nimble fingers, the 'Fine Arts Handicraft Creativity Society' is delighted to invite you to attend its first public exhibition of Drawing, Embroidery, Tailoring and Easter Egg Drawing, which will be held at the house of the famous historian and astronomer, Dr. Adel Al-Saadoun at Fintas, Block 4, Street 9, House 21 on Saturday, February 20, 2010.
The exhibition is only for a day from 10:00am to 8:00pm.

There is a Sangita in this group too I don't know if it is the same lady you mentioned in an earlier post. The world is a very small place indeed so it would not surprise me.

Yes thank you I did read it earlier, what an amazing place it is more like a museum than anything else. i wish i could be in Kuwait for the exhibition on the twentieth but I have too many things to look after here in India. Are you familiar with the ladies of the stitching group? They are the ones holding the exhibition and they truly are a talented lot. It will be a good exhibition I am sure.

Hi, Really enjoyed your blog, I found it after googling for the house of Adel al Sadoun, some friends are going to have an exhibition there on 20th Feb. I too live part of the time in Kuwait and part of the time in India.

Glad you like it Kaneez! Yes, I used Photoshop to clear the background and add the shadows. But that's all OK...I didn't "enhance" anything else LOL!

Well, Dubai IS very different from Kuwait in landscape especially and of course, size. Culturally, too, they are a bit different from Kuwait - but that's the subject of another blog post eh?

You should make a trip there especially if you have relatives there and a place to crash. I find Dubai expensive but you should enjoy it. I didn't talk about other activities in Dubai but there are. Let me put together another post!

I had heard so much of Dubai and had have been invited by few cousins to pay a visit, but never got really interested in going and always felt it to be like Kuwait, because it being in the gulf. Now, after reading your blog, and seeing these lovely photos, I have to say that it is not like Kuwait at all, definetly different from Kuwait.

We're quite used to it by now, Naz. Aftermath of every sandstorm is dust, dust everywhere in the house, in the car...! Good thing is yes, my part-time maid cleans when she comes....Outside, it lingers in the atmosphere like a haze, until it rains.
